I refuse to allow anyone else in this household to cook, for one very simple reason. They can't! I'm quite experimental in the kitchen, I'll go to the local Asian grocer and fill my basket with a bunch of items I have no idea of what and how you use them. Or close my eyes, open a cook book and BAM that's what's for dinner. An easy and fail proof meal is Thai beef salad. This actually came about after making Beef Pho. I had left over ingredients so slapped them all together with a few salad bits and pieces and TA DA! Beef salad.
I wish I had more of a precise recipe, but honestly that's not how I cook HA! I throw things into a pot and hope for the best. But here is the jist of what was used.
Korean thin cross cut beef
Soy Sauce
Beef Stock
A little bit of chicken stock
Garlic
Chili
Fish sauce
Lime juice
Red Onion
Lettuce
Cucumber
Spring Onion
Tomato
Coriander
I marinate the beef in soy, garlic, lime juice, chili and a bit of the beef stock. I then prepare the salad ingredients and quickly fry off the beef. Mix soy, both stocks, spring onion, lime juice, fish sauce and more chili together and drizzle over the salad ingredients. And you are done!
